This course develops advanced academic writing skills in the interdisciplinary field of cognitive science. It addresses key stages of the writing process: planning and research, drafting, and editing, through hands-on, workshop based work on students’ texts. Emphasis is given on the production of clear, coherent, and well-argued texts, as well as the integration and critically engagement with scholarly sources, while adapting writing to different academic audiences. Students work with a range of academic genres (e.g., abstracts, course papers, theses) and develop, draft, and revise their own texts through iterative feedback.
