The aims of the course are the following:

to acquaint students with the problems connected with the translation of various texts
to help students prepare themselves for translation of different texts (parallel texts, creating glossaries, searching for proper vocabulary)
to help students gain knowledge, develop their professional skills, as well as the ability to make use of various sources and new technologies
to help students understand the need for constant development in order to translate efficiently and properly
to acquaint students with the process of translation
to help students develop their group skills (acquiring different roles, e.g. coordinator, editor, proofreader)
to exercise the negotiation and persuasion skills, as well as the skills connected to work culture
to acquaint students with the responsibility for the translation and the translation team
to develop students’ abilities to work under pressure and to help them overcome stress
