Celem zajęć jest zapoznanie studentów z społecznymi determinantami warunkującymi kształtowanie przestrzeni, głownie przestrzeni miejskiej. Zajmować się będziemy zarówno czynnikami społecznymi, które kształtują przestrzeń, ale także tym, w jaki sposób przestrzeń miejska wpływa na kształt relacji międzyludzkich.

The aim of the course is to learn about different aspects of social and cultural identity in modern world. We will discuss the bases of identities (role, group, and person) and relations between identity and culture. Next we will talk about different types of cultural identities:  gender identity, European identity, religious identity, ethnic and national identity, cyber identity. Chosen case studies will be discussed to show how subculture, music, cuisine, place of living influence the way we define themselves. It will be shown how identity change during our life course, why multiply identities, transnational identities are typical for the globalized world. The course will be based on case studies, sociological data, and autoethnography. 

Students will learn about different aspect of migration studies: history of migration, main trends and directions. We will also discuss different cultural, political and economic problems connected with spatial mobility.

During the course students will develop a sociological and anthropological perspective analyzing different social phenomena located in towns and cities. Using different theories and narratives we will consider how sociologists, anthropologists and writers have described urban space linking it with social issues, as globalization and glocalisation, collective memory, democratization, migration, consumption, power and freedom. We will considering different functions and types of urban space (f.e. personal/public space), but also space as a basis of identification (class, gender, ethnic  and minority groups, race) and. We will also study urban codes and ways of their interpretations, local communities of districts in the process of transformation. 

This course aims at imparting the focused and specific skills related to the Tourism Industry. It focuses on various aspects such as preparation of portfolio, preparing the files for Interview, focused presentation with PPT, Specific industry related Group Discussions and the challenges faced by a Manager while working in the industry.

Zajęcia wprowadzą studentów w zagadnienia dotyczące związków między społeczeństwem a myśleniem. Omówione zostaną ogólne koncepcje tłumaczące, w jaki sposób czynniki społeczne i kulturowe wpływają na procesy poznawcze (m.in. Emila Durkheima, Eviatara Zerubavela, Arona Cicourela, Petera Bergera i Thomasa Luckmanna, Alfreda Schutza, Ervinga Goffmana), ale także szczegółowe zagadnienia związane z procesami myślowymi: społecznie konstruowanych klasyfikacji, identyfikacji, pamięci społecznej, symbolizacji oraz uwagi).
