This advanced writing course can essentially be described as academic English.

The lecture on British and American film history spans the period from the beginning of the 20th century to the first decades of the current century.

The seminar will concern world building and alternative worlds in cinema. During the introductory phase a number of films will be viewed. The films will be accompanied by appropriate literature for discussion. By the end of the 1st semester students are expected to have made a preliminary selection of a film or films for analysis in their theses. 

The course will concern short story film adaptations. One week a particular short story will discussed and the following week the film on which it was based will be discussed. The short story will be provided to all students but presented by one student, a text will be provided for the film to aid in its discussion.
